Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Bike Service Book™ ("the Service"), operated by ThrillTech Mechanical Risk Intelligence (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bike Service Book™ is a digital platform that allows cyclists to record and track bicycle maintenance history, component service intervals, and related information. The Service includes:

  • Digital service history recording for bicycles
  • Component tracking and service interval notifications
  • Integration with Strava for automatic ride logging
  • Booking requests forwarded to bicycle service shops
  • Downloadable PDF service history reports

3. Accounts and Registration

You must register for an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at ben@thrilltech.co.za.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Bike Service Book™ offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. By subscribing to the Premium plan, you agree to the following:

  • Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance.
  • Payments are processed securely by Paystack. By subscribing, you also agree to Paystack's terms of service.
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your Premium access.

5. Booking Requests

Bike Service Book™ acts solely as a booking request forwarding platform. When you submit a service booking request, we forward that request to your selected bicycle shop on your behalf. We do not:

  • Guarantee the availability of any shop or mechanic
  • Guarantee the quality or completion of any service performed
  • Accept liability for any work carried out by third-party shops
  • Act as an agent or representative of any participating shop

Any disputes regarding bicycle services must be resolved directly with the service shop concerned.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Service, including photos, service records, and bike information. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not share your content with third parties except as required to operate the Service or as required by law.

7. Strava Integration

If you choose to connect your Strava account, you authorise us to access your Strava activity data for the purpose of updating your component service hours. Your use of Strava is also subject to Strava's own terms of service and privacy policy. You may disconnect Strava at any time from your account settings.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent
  • Impersonate any person or entity

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Service history records are only as accurate as the information you provide. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on information recorded in the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Thrill Tech (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms of Service. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at ben@thrilltech.co.za. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, unless you request immediate deletion.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
