All client subscription payments are collected directly by Bike Service Book via Paystack. You never handle subscription money — your role is to activate the client and earn commission when they pay.

Service Referral Fees

For each service event logged through BSB for a client linked to your store, BSB charges you a referral fee. This covers platform costs for facilitating and verifying the service record. Fees are invoiced by BSB separately from your commission earnings — no offsetting permitted.

Common Questions

Is there a monthly fee to be a Bike Service Book retailer?

No. There is no subscription fee for retailers. Bike Service Book is free to join and use as a retailer.

Can I activate clients who already have a Bike Service Book account?

Yes. Search for any existing Bike Service Book user by email and link them to your store instantly. Their existing bikes and history carry over.

Does a client need to buy a bike to be activated?

No. You can activate any client at any time — whether they're purchasing a new bike, coming in for a service, or simply want to start tracking their maintenance history. Activation is not tied to a sale.

How does invoicing work?

Two separate invoices apply each month. You invoice BSB for activation commissions earned on Premium subscriptions. BSB invoices you for service referral fees on services logged. These are settled independently — no offsetting is permitted. Your Retailer Portal shows a full breakdown of both figures.

What if my shop has multiple branches?

Each branch gets its own retailer login. We can group your branches under one group name in the admin system for consolidated reporting.

How long does approval take?

Typically within 1 business day. Ben personally reviews each application to ensure Bike Service Book maintains a quality network of shops.

Can clients unlink from my store?

Yes, clients control their own data and can unlink from any retailer at any time via their Settings page. Similarly, you can remove a client from your store if needed.

How do I add mechanics to my shop?

Go to your Retailer Portal and click the Mechanics tab. Enter the mechanic's name and email address. If they already have a Bike Service Book account they are linked to your shop immediately. If not, an account is created for them automatically and they receive a single email with a link to set their password — no separate email confirmation required.

Can mechanics use Bike Service Book for their own bikes?

Yes. Mechanic accounts are full Bike Service Book accounts. When a mechanic logs in they see a choice screen — they can go to their own bike dashboard to track their personal bikes and service history, or go to the Mechanic Portal to log services for your shop's clients. Both are available from a single login.
